During winter, Italy is one hour ahead of GMT, during the summer (April – September), the clocks move one hour forward.

When is the best time to fly?

We suggest that you book your helicopter flight prior to arrival. This assures you of a tour time that fits into your schedule. It’s also wise to book your tour for the early part of your stay. That way if your pilot determines that weather conditions on a particular day are not optimal for a tour, you will have some options for re-scheduling. As far as the best time of day for a helicopter tour, you should primarily consider your personal schedule. If we happen to have a rainy weather pattern the pilot will consult weather reports and other pilots who have been flying to determine if we can operate a good tour. Helitaly does not want to take our guests on a flight unless we are reasonably certain we can give you an excellent experience.

Can someone with a disability fly?

Yes, in most cases this is fine, but please contact a Helitaly representative prior to the booking for details and or any restrictions.

Are helicopters a safe way to travel?

Yes. Helicopters are among the safest transportation modes available, and are the most widely used air rescue vehicles in the world.

What experience do the pilots have and where are they from?

All of Helitaly Helicopter’s pilots are Western pilots, mainly from Italy, and are very experienced operators, strictly guided by European Aviation Laws – Your safety is assured.
