Villa Crespi has had a great many illustrious owners over the generations. The first, Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, a pioneer of the Italian cotton industry, was enchanted during his business travels to Baghdad and in 1879 had his magnificent villa built in Moorish style set in a superb park sloping down to the romantic Lake Orta. From the 1930’s under the Marquis Fracassi di Torre Rossano, the villa became an exclusive place for poets, nobles, aristocrats and statesmen to holiday and it was very well known throughout northern Europe.
Today Villa Crespi is a dream come true, run with great love and skill by Antonino and Cinzia Cannavacciuolo, the currents owners who have made it into a place for the soul, ideal for business and leisure stays.
