Villa Crespi has had a great many illustrious owners over the generations. The first, Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, a pioneer of the Italian cotton industry, was enchanted during his business travels to Baghdad and in 1879 had his magnificent villa built in Moorish style set in a superb park sloping down to the romantic Lake Orta. From the 1930’s under the Marquis Fracassi di Torre Rossano, the villa became an exclusive place for poets, nobles, aristocrats and statesmen to holiday and it was very well known throughout northern Europe.

Today Villa Crespi is a dream come true, run with great love and skill by Antonino and Cinzia Cannavacciuolo, the currents owners who have made it into a place for the soul, ideal for business and leisure stays.

Their guests live an experience of incomparable charm and fascination: 14 gorgeous suites and rooms that are the expression of exclusive discretion, their two Michelin starred restaurant among the most sought after in Italy, where Antonino tells his own story, his life experiences which took him from the traditions of his beloved Naples to his home today in Piedmont. His life is expressed in the dishes he creates with supreme skill and passion, conveying the essence of the finest raw materials from both north and south, in an innovative Mediterranean cuisine that he constantly revisits and renews.

Just a short flight from Milan, Como Lake or Bormio, Villa Crespi is not only the ideal place to savour impeccable cuisine and hospitality; it is also perfect to enjoy an ideal Gourmet stop while on a Helitaly Scenic flight over the fascinating northern Italian lakes.
